Why is the climate agenda so important for the world?
Increasingly, climate change affects our daily lives. The effects of global warming are found everywhere. Whether in the production of the food we consume or in the price we pay for it; in the cost of our electricity bill; or in the availability of water. Even the job market and inflation rates are influenced by climate change.
In this section, eight internationally recognized top Brazilian scientists and climate experts will clarify the true dimension of the impacts of global warming. The initiative aims to foster dialogue on the current climate landscape and the key challenges facing the climate agenda in the years ahead, while highlighting pathways to address the changes already affecting the planet.
The articles will also present viable solutions and concrete opportunities to address the challenges posed by climate overshoot, a period in which global warming temporarily exceeds the 1.5 °C threshold. More than simply exploring future scenarios, this content invites reflection on the choices we make today and on how they can help reduce risks, accelerate adaptation, and promote a safer, more equitable, and more sustainable world for future generations.
